The Courage to Gather — Why It Matters — Field Notes #8 with Rachel Dickson

8/27/25

Greetings, fellow wanderers and seekers of what’s real, hopeful, loving, and true.

For some time, I’ve felt the pull to host a circle with wild-hearted folks like you. A space not just for personal reflection, but for the kind of resonance only found when we come together. There’s a unique power in twos and threes — and even more when hearts gather in one place.

I’m thrilled to share that it’s finally happening!
On Sunday, September 7th (2–4 pm), I’ll be hosting an in-person soul resonance gathering at Elk Haven Wellness Center in Brevard, NC — joined by Elise Burrows (crystal bowls) and Jaci Daley (Colour Mirror bottles).

Here’s the human part: as I wrote the landing page, vulnerability rose up. That voice of, “oh my gosh…what am I doing?”
Will people come? Will it resonate?

Gathering has always required courage — to be seen, to invite others into sacred space, to trust the right people will arrive. The logistics matter, but so does surrendering to the mystery of what unfolds when we’re together. That’s the true gift of gathering.

I’d love to personally invite you into Mirror of the Soul: A Full Corn Moon Experience.

Here’s what we’ll share together:

  • Crystal Bowls with Elise Burrows, attuning us to solfeggio frequencies and the fullness of the Corn Moon (peaking at 2:09 pm est, just as we begin).
  • A guided meditation led by me, where we’ll walk toward our higher selves and receive the messages waiting for us.
  • Colour Mirror Bottle work with Jaci Daley, integrating our insights through the vibrational language of color.
  • A closing co-creation: placing the bottles into a collective mandala...weaving our energies into a shared symbol of resonance.

Reserve your spot here: {click here to view event details}
Seating is limited to 20, and we expect the circle to fill quickly.
Tickets are $25.

Gathering — whether hosting, joining, or simply showing up — is an act of courage in today’s fragmented, isolated world.

  • Circles create resonance, and resonance requires willingness.
  • Gathering isn’t just an event; it’s medicine for loneliness, disconnection, and the longing to belong.

I don’t yet know how this gathering will unfold. But I do know that stepping forward already feels like a victory. May you find your own way to step forward this week — to call your circle, however it looks.

Wild-Heart Practice of the Week:

“Call Your Circle”

  • Take one small step toward gathering this week.
    • Invite a friend for tea.
    • Join a group meditation.
    • Host a simple conversation around the dinner table.
  • Notice what shifts when you gather instead of going it alone.

Field Notes is a weekly dispatch.
A pause in the noise.
A place to come home.
One breath at a time.

If this note resonated, feel free to forward it to someone who might need this reminder.

Until next time,
Namaste.
Rachel

10/23/25 Hey there, quiet alchemists, truth-tenders, and rememberers of what matters! quintessence This fascinating term dropped back into my orbit this week. I love being reminded of things I once deeply pondered and now carry within my being. And when I’m reminded of them...is like a spark or a bolt of lighting...a reverberating AHAH moment! This word comes from the Latin words quinta essentia. Quinta being “fifth” and Essentia being “essence”. But what is quintessence? “Ancient and...

10/17/25 Greetings, brave feelers and quiet seekers….travelers of both the outer world and the inner one. If you were to go to my blog and read the entry I wrote on September 8th, 2024 here is what you would find…. Change Working in the outdoors I've had the pleasure of being witness to change each and every day. How the light hits the river water in the morning, the sounds of insects and birds and the rippling water over rocks. It's easy to notice change when you're in awareness of your...

10/01/25 Greetings, fellow wanderers, wild-idea dreamers, meaning makers, and seekers of clarity, courage, and quiet joy! I see you. Because I am you… and you are me. “Wherever we insist on pushing our differences on others, we feel separation. We name this separation resistance, laziness, loneliness, depression, anxiety, or some kind of lack in ourselves. Then we claim these as ‘who we are’—I am resistant, I am lazy, I am lonely, I am anxious, I am stupid, I am unappreciated, I am unworthy,...
