02/19/26 Hello Courageous Souls, Threshold-Walkers, Inner-World Gardeners, and Love-Bringers! Patterns within myself and the subtle spiritual hygiene of attention. I’ve been noticing some things lately. If you happen to be a facebook user...you likely have a facebook routine. Where you open the app and begin scrolling...or...maybe you begin to review new posts on groups you’re a part of...or any other plethora of ways to utilize the facebook platform. What I have noticed...is that within those who are your selected friends...there are themes and patterns about which folks post. This last group is laced with judgmental overtones...reasons why it’s “not good”. Whereas the other group is laced with variations of love energy. And you likely know exactly what I’m speaking of here...because you’ve noticed this too. Some many months ago I began to become selective as to how I perused the facebook platform...so that I wasn’t allowing myself to be bombarded by negativity, hate speech, or lower vibrational energy. I’ve noticed that we all seem to have patterns and how in our minds we choose to think about and/or speak about and maybe even react or respond to the plethora of dialogue found on FB. Numerous times I’ve caught myself just about ready to “knee-jerk react” to something I deem as a ridiculous comment and then I paused and asked myself...will what I’m about to say help or hinder here? And I chose to move on because I realized that I had almost been sucked into the vortex of….well...the meaninglessness of it all. That’s the whole game. It’s easy to go into a public forum like facebook and rant and rave about anything or everything. But this is an influential space. Am I influencing the field towards higher vibration or am I influencing the field towards a lower vibration? My own...and for others. What I choose for myself, I choose for all. (see Law of Oneness) I really like Mel Robbins teaching around the 5 second pause. Where when something hits you in a reactive way...to stop and count to five...and then after that reactive energy has moved through...now...do you still want to react or even respond at all. This pause indeed gives us space for our hearts to sit with our minds and contemplate what really matters here...from a deeper vibrational level. We can’t respond from our hearts when we are reeling in anger because of a triggered reaction. These check-ins with ourselves are critically important right now. How do I choose to spend this moment...the right now? Scrolling mindlessly on facebook and getting sucker-punched by all the ranting and raving...or...pause. Put it down. Logout. And find presence where you are rather than in the virtual realm. It’s easy to fall prey to patterns that entertain our body minds. Much like our brains mindlessly feeding on a bag of digital Doritos. But there are huge rewards to proactively choosing what our minds are feeding on. Consciously choosing...as adults protecting our energy fields. We are the gatekeepers of our hearts and minds. Trust me when I say...I’m speaking this to myself as much as to anyone else. I’m human too...right there in the middle of it all. Yet it’s a practice to guard your internal spaces and to nourish your deep heart spaces...in full honest-to-goodness awareness and presence. This I know. I get sucker-punched too sometimes. The Facebook engineers are geniuses at understanding human behavior and what the ingredients are to attention grabbing kryptonite. They seemed to have cracked the code to the science behind digital rubber necking. But when we know these components live in facebookland...it’s a lot easier for me to get in...communicate what I want to communicate...and then get out. It’s crucial for us to be aware that our attention (and where we choose to put it) is the new high-demand currency of the day. Read that again. Having and and holding and keeping your attention for as long as possible is the new battleground. But always remember...you hold the key to your attention! You and you alone. Choose wisely where you give it freely. 🌿 WildHearted Practice of the Week:The Five-Second Gatekeeper Pause This week, practice becoming the gatekeeper of your attention. The next time you feel the urge to react— Pause. Count slowly to five. 5…4…3…2…1… Then ask yourself:
